that is much better, thanks.

Done, Eldon. : )

I had created a profile for this ancestor or mine:
Robert Mays

now I find someone else has added a marriage relationship to:
Elizabeth Thornbury

this seems to be incorrect. I go through the steps to delete the spouse relationship in my Robert Mays profile, but it won't let me (grey-ed out).

can you break this marriage?

Well, I've been mucking around in the various POE lines, and I think I've mostly untangled the "upper end" of the "Edgar Allen" vs the other American Poe lines. The "other" is still a bit of a mess (in no small part to private profiles), but at least the primary "Poe" ancestors of Edgar Allen is a lot more accurate at the moment.

My request has to do with making a number of these profiles as "Master Profiles" ... and hopefully then minimizing re-entanglement of the two (or more) Poe lineages from the 1600-1700's.

A key profile is this John Poe -- tree view here:
http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000008469174871

As best as I've been able to determine, all of the ancestors existing (including spouses) from that John Poe are correct, and all of the children and spouses are correct. (Most of the grandchildren are correct as well, but I haven't gone through all of them yet.)

I have even verified (merging or denying) all the possible matches shown by Geni -- with the caveat that I did NOT allow any private profiles into any possible merges, because of the resulting inability to untangle what might result from that.

So, can those profiles all be made MP's? (John Poe of 1720, ancestors, children and spouses, and John's spouse & family).

FYI - I thought I saw a reference to the Poe lineages some in another discussion/project, but I couldn't find it today -- hence the placement of the request here (since it is clearly a curator function to make MP's).

Just for the sake of clarity, it is the children and grandchildren and their spouses of David Poe of Dring which I have verified.

So that includes the siblings of the John Poe referenced in my previous request (at 4:33PM).

... and the ancestors of David Poe of Dring.

Stephen Browning, I am prepared to make the cut however there is another match showing and the dates and places match very well indeed. Are you really sure this wasn't his wife? Or are you just unsure who or if his wife was? Perhaps a dialogue with
LIsa J Lowe the manager of the other profile, would be prudent.

I'm working on this Poe family - bring on the Scotch-Irish! I'm adding supplemental documents as I can. Let me know if I've missed anyone.

Erica Howton ... Thanks! I'll stay out of there until you say so (but will continue a bit of looking at that "other" Poe mess -- the one not related to Edgar Allen!)

If you look at the timeline for the Eliz Bolling record, you'll see if has her marrying one man, then another, and having children with both during the same time.
Elizabeth Thornbury

There are 2 Eliz Bollings in the system, one lived from 1731 to 1803 and married John Thornbury. The other lived from 1731 to 1779 and married Robert Mays.
What has happened is that the first Eliz has been attached by marriage to both men.

Stephen Browning, it is possible that someone has already dealt with this before I looked at it. Either that or you are mistaken as both of the Eliz. Bollings attached to both Robert Mayes have the dates you give as correct for the wife of Robert Mayes. If you agree then we can complete the merge if you don't then we can remove it.

I made a probable incorrect merge ... please undo:
Michael House

Cannot undo but can break the parent relationship. There are two fathers showing and one mother. Which, if any, are correct?

Before breaking the parent connection you have to add the son they loose and eventually distribute spouses and children

True, thank you.

I think I see the problem - there were 2 (or 3) Elizabeth Bollings with similar dates in Virginia.

If it's OK I'll help out. Stephen's there's a second wife (Susannah Wade) for Robert Mays according to his will, which is a document I attached to the profile. But we have more documenting to do. :)

Hi Erica, Terry
Yes, my research agrees with that, Robert Mays (1735-1808) was first married to Elizabeth Bolling (1731-1779) and later to a Susannah Wade. The will mentions this. The issue again is someone has attached a different person, Elizabeth Bolling (1731-1803), to my Robert Mays thru a marriage tie. Forgive my ignorance of the procedures, I would look to your advice on how to fix!

Over to you then Erica...

Stephen you did just right! We've separated the Siamese Twin Elizabeth Bollings and yours should be married only to Robert Mays.

I stepped up the Mays line a bit - interesting, go explore!

Actually a question for you again

Did you want us to go ahead and merge this profile Unknown Profile with this one? Elizabeth Blair Mays

@Priscilla Grey Unknown Profile.
This woman was not Mathew Grants wife. She was born in 1615. Mathew Grants wife was born in 1601(his words). Died in 1644

Priscilla Grey was married to John St Nicholas Esq. They are buried together with her Parents in Reverand Anthony Grey's church. Their names are on the monument. She died in 1665 John died in 1698

I have tried to get this changed giving the source NEGHR Vol 102 pg 153 but it's still on this site. The Curator, I won't name, ["It still looks good to me"] still wanted to merge

Ed

Is there a profile for Matthew Grant's wife you can point to or create?

I found this
http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/358293083990011864
All her children are Grants..

Angus can you provide the exact profile link and not just the tree?

Debby Balaban some one has merged with my tree and has added incorrect duplicates which has messed my tree up, i need advice how to delete them, ty

You don't delete actually - you disconnect.

Curators can assist with public profiles only. Please post a link that includes the correct information in the overview.

it doesnt show who has done this, or if it does i cant see im totally stressed now cs been 3 hours trying to sort it....where do i find the link?

The profile link is in the address bar - the http:// ... Copy it and then paste it into a message. Make sure the profile is set to public.

to Erica Howton
You have to use search and look for Priscilla Grant, with me as manager. I can't give an URl because it does not show when I check my own entries
