The overview mentions a few topics that do not align with my wife's (Yangco-1) and her cousin's (Yangco-2) DNA tests.
"In Samuel Stagg's biography of his close friend Teodoro Yangco (Lolo Doyong), he wrote that Ramona and Luis were married. This is echoed by
Gregorio Zaide and other historians in their accounts of their relationship. However facts and circumstances tend not to support this. In his will,
Luis Yangco declared Teodoro as his natural but not legitimate child. This was the basis for a Supreme court ruling in a famous case, Corpus vs
Corpus, denying claims to the Yangco fortune."

Without knowing the details of the Corpus vs Corpus ruling, it would make more sense that Teodoro Yangco was denied claims to the estate of Luis Yangco because genetically his father is Tomas Corpus. DNA results Yangco-1 and Yangco-2 descendants indicate no genetic relation to any Yangcos of the 19th century, but there are several Corpus descendants who are close genetic matches. Furthermore, the genetic testing indicates a strong relation to tsinoys (Chinese Filipinos or sangley mestizos), but not Spanish mestizos. The Yangco families of the 19th century are genetically a mix of tsinoys/ sangley mestizos and sangley mestizos. The Corpus families of the 19th century appear to be genetically tsinoys and pinoys.

Ramona's family were against a wedding because of their Sinophobia and Luis was Chinese. However it should be noted that his father was a
sangley mestizo and his mother, a Spanish mestiza. More likely, they did not marry because of their age gap. When Ramona bore Teodoro in
1861, Luis was barely 20 and she was 33 and already bore several children from Pablo Corpus who had recently passed.

Finally, combining the above statements with the biography of Teodoro Yangco indicating he was a lifelong bachelor seems to resonate with what Yangco-1 and Yangco-2 know about their grandparents--they were not married, they had roots in Zambales, and they had a grandmother or great uncle named Teddy Yangco. Teddy Yangco is the son of Catalino Yangco and Crisanta Patino, and likely named after his genetic grandfather, Teodoro Yangco. It is possible that Teodoro Rafael Arguelles Yangco is genetically a Corpus.
