His mother's Priscilla Gillis line is said to trace back through Esther Robins to Henry III and beyond.

Miles files runs a tracer from https://espl-genealogy.org/getperson.php?personID=I21638&tree=1 (see https://espl-genealogy.org/pedigree.php?personID=I21638&tree=1) to Antigone Grey natural daughter of Humphrey of Lancaster, 1st Duke of Gloucester > Henry IV of England > John of Gaunt, 1st Duke of Lancaster, 1st Earl of Richmond > Edward III, king of England

Of *course* Edward III was going to be in the path somewhere, assuming it's correct. He's notoriously "the father of the English middle class".

A secondary result is that anyone with Col. Nathaniel Littleton in their tree has this line also.

Note: This path can be found on Geni also. Have all steps been completely verified?

Lady Elizabeth (Grey) Kynaston is Esther (Robins) Denwood's 6th great grandmother.

http://archive.org/details/colonialrevoluti01jord/page/40/mode/1up?... Shows a Royal descent for her.

And, Lady Elizabeth (Grey) Kynaston is Thomas Lloyd, Lieutenant-Governor of PA.'s fourth great grandmother.

Thomas Lloyd, Lieutenant-Governor of PA.

And he’s on the list at https://www.geni.com/projects/Mid-Atlantic-Gateway-Ancestors-of-Proven-Royal-Descent/43715

So why doesn’t Richardson have Esther Robins

OK, got it. Col. Nathaniel Littleton Is on the list. I was looking at Maryland, not Virginia. Oops.

So, double check

Priscilla (Denwood) Gillis is Col. Nathaniel Littleton's great granddaughter. https://www.geni.com/path/Col-Nathaniel-Littleton+is+related+to+Priscilla-Gillis?from=338643594680014064&path_type=blood&to=6000000006056837001

Antigone (of Gloucester) Grey is Col. Nathaniel Littleton's fifth great grandmother.

Geni appears to be in order, congruent with Miles Files & Richardson.

I'll try...
Levin Gillis (my 5th GGF on my father's side):
B:22 Aug 1721 Stepney Parish, Somerset County, Maryland, Colonial America
D:Bef. Mar 1772 Stepney Parish, Somerset County, Maryland, Colonial America

His father:
Capt. Thomas Gilliss
B:Abt. 1697 Doe Better, Somerset County, Maryland, Colonial America
D:Bef. 12 Jan 1780 Somerset County, Maryland, Colonial America

His mother:
Priscilla King Denwood
B:Bef. 1701 Monie Hundred, Somerset County, Maryland, Colonial America
D:Bef. 1743 Monie Hundred, Somerset County, Maryland, Colonial America

Their marriage:
22 Sept 1720
source: Early Colonial Settlers of Southern Maryland and Virginia's Northern Neck Counties - Family ID 38834

That line traces back (through Priscilla) DIRECTLY to (in reverse order):
Antigone Plantagenet
Humphrey Plantagenet
Henry of Lancaster, King of England and France IV
John of Gaunt, Duke of Lancaster
Edward Windsor, King of England III
Edward of Caernarfon, King of England II
Edward Longshanks, King of England I
Henry of Winchester, King of England III
Blah blah blah...

And, yes, Gillis/Gilliss spellings were used interchangeably, both derive from "Gilies" or "Gillie" which is Scottish for "Groundskeeper Willie" :-)

Now can someone please figure out

Johnne Gilleis (yet another spelling)
b. abt 1597 Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland (or possibly Shropshire)

His wife (allegedly) was one Issobell Lyndsay
SHE has an extensive pedigree, he (sadly) seems not to be traceable)

Thanks in advance and hope this helps.
