Please post the primary sources linking Johannes Wilhelmus Wydeman as the child of Johanna Catharina Wijdeman, SM & Pieter Andries Christiaan Wijdeman, SV/PROG

Disconnecting pending the provision of primary sources.

There's some source information with death notice in this tree on MyHeritage. I'm intrigued by by this line because my O'Kennedy/Kennedy line connects to this line and was in South Africa. The Kennedy and Ashurst line both had slaves. This was 7/8 generations ago and the maternal line connection to this profile was on a Portuguese ship captured. I have ancestry mixed with those as well. This is my second link I am finding that is coming closer to more South Africa for me, specific location ,Malmesbury, West Coast DC, Western Cape, South Africa

Let me know if the link works and if information is useful.

This line is the line that connects to my Ashurst line as well as to this line.

John Morgan O'Kennedy, SV/PROG

Can you upload the death notice - if it gives parents- to the profile? I can't see it.

Sorry ... there seems to b 2 discussions Sharon that is in reply to the query about Johannes Wilhelmus Wijdeman. Are you able to reconnect it, please?

Thanks. Will upload doc and restore relationships

Johannes Wilhelmus Wijdeman

  • Baptism 28 Mar 1773 Cape Town, Cape of Good Hope, South Africa
  • Parents Pieter Andries Wijdeman Johanna Catharina Van Wijk

I don't think there are two, Gayle?

From what I can tell of Wilhelmus it appears it maybe two different people... One born 1773 and another 1753. Something seems amiss as one goes by Johannes and another Wilhelmus. Death record for Wilhelmus and baptism record for "Johannes Wilhelmus". Both attached to the tree I shared. Same person or different?

To add the baptism record indicates 1753 for Johannes, the various tress say 1773 and death record of Wilhelmus says 1835 I believe. So very possible just a typo error carried across the internet and he went by his middle name.

This is the correct baptism doc for our guy: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-DZN4-WCX?i=89&cc=1...

This is Willem: Willem Weidemann, b2

Well the relationships are diffently getting closer the more they're worked out. Now it's at my uncle's wife, it's her sister's husband family. Still lines missing but over time I'm sure they'll pop up. It could also explain the enslaved people's orgin as the Kennedy line went to and from Africa and Ashurst line has 11 people enslaved. I have to be extra careful as one line proved over time that what appeared to be parents to my ancestors, they're actually enslaved by them. Honestly I'm just thankful we all can collaborate and figure it out as a team.

I have no information or source on this person Sorry
