Curious why some of the Field family of England left for America in the 1600s, they were a comfortable family in England in favor of many of the Kings of England for many generations. The ancestor of the Field family, the first of whom there is any record, was Hubertus Hugh de la Feld who went to England with William, the Conqueror, in the year 1066 from near Colmar in Alsace on the German border of France.

Many of us are the descendants of
https://www.geni.com/path/Suzan-Martin+is+related+to+William-the-Co... - He's my paternal 25th GGF as the closest, but my paternal Moseley's and my maternal lineage of Trigg's cross many times in relationship over History.

My personal belief is this branch of the Trigg family may have fell out of favor with the King and Queen of England at the time. As well as the Eliis Family, The Ellis family name is an Allied one over many generations with my family. It's the same Ellis family that I find living in Texas in the 1800s marrying into my family.

I'm seeking out documents in English Archives for the reason Abraham Field's father left England as well as his wife Alice Field (Ellis) family The Ellis Family.

May have been religious freedom, some say, but this family branch many are Episcopalian, which is The Church of England.

What information have you all found?

It may have been the simple reason of the youngest son, not inheriting property - two generations before were Church of England ministers, would think they were not wealthy.

Henry Field Was the emigrant ancestor.

Was he someone’s head right? Did he travel alone? Did he own property, and if so, when & where? Was he a church member, and if so, what parish & ministry? Did he have a trade or a craft? Do we know his village and how it fared during the Cromwell years? Was he a merchant or have relatives with mercantile or trading interests? Most importantly, who did know who came to Virginia, and why did they? It’s almost always “chain migration” of some sort, not in a vacuum.

Are you sure of his father? Because that explains it right away.

Wikipedia [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Field_(Puritan)] son of Rev. John Field John Field (1545–1588), also called John Fielde, was a British Puritan clergyman and controversialist.

(Although I think any radical Puritan children would have been OK, but see the ejected ministers under James l)

oh yes, just found it!

I have the ship he traveled on.

The four brother's left England at different times - evidently because of their father.

It;s answered on the Field of America

I'm seeking original documentation of all written, you know I like the original documents and everything I can find.

What documents were lost and what years for Jamestown?

What makes you think Jamestown? His children were born in Culpeper.

A great starting point.

He landed in Jamestown- may have move to Culpeper, let me work on his profile and upload all documentation I have. Worked on the Field lineage quite a while ago.

Have documentation - just need to find. My Macbook needs yet another battery, working on HP laptop. Know in the past had all of the documentation that proved this lineage.

Thanks Erica.

He landed in 1635...

Henry Field IMMIGRANT FROM ENGLAND TO VIRGINIA
5838X. HENRY FIELD (John, John, William, Thomas, Thomas, John, Thomas,
Roger), b. in England' about 161 1; came to America; settled in James town, Va. ;
m. . The tradition, which is quite generally prevalent in the South, in relation to
this branch of the family is, that four brothers came to America, at about the
same time. They had taken with their father a prominent part in religious
controversies in the old country, and were obliged to flee to avoid persecution. One
of the brothers, accompanied by a relative, came to America in the ship
Expectation, and located at Jamestown, Va. His name was Henry. He was born in
England in 1611 '''and arrived in Virginia Nov. 20, 1635. His relative was John
Dickinson''', John Dickinson, I who was born the same year as Henry and who came in the same ship

The Dickinson family is related to my maternal family all through history -
the maternal Trigg family in England, America as well as the Lancaster/ Hudson linage. the Dickinson family is an interesting family - a relative of this John Dickinson

this is my 4th cousin 7xr through the Triggs
