This results suggest that there must be a bloodline connection but I see that Iziaslav Ingvarevich Rurikid and Grand Duke of Novgorod Rurik Sigurdsson are connected to the big shared tree, but Maryna Zhubryk is not. I suggest to correct that first.

I don't know how to correct this and how to connect my tree to the big tree.

Ik wil try to make the connection. Maybe we need help. I am based in the Netherlands so I can not visit the archives in East Europe or archives outside Europe in person. So I have to do it with the information that is online.

Its very very great thing

It is not problem for our country too - this connection- Riurikas, Vikingas, Novgorodo Kunigaikštis is my first cousin four times removed's wife's 23rd great grandfather.

Irma Randakevičienė

Thank you very much for sharing information about your roots.

Rurik is one of the forfathers of the counts of Holland and so the birthfather of the Kingdom of Holland. And he was Finnish. So that answers why I and others in Europe have Finnish DNA. We are all one big European family. Now we need to find the path to him. He is the Finnish version of Charlemagne.

Geni says ;my 29 th great grandfather,Rurik.

I try but have no results

Thank you very much for sharing your result

Please dont forget Izislav and Gleb had different haplogroup, so that means Gleb and Izislav werent related geneticly to Rurik.

Grzegorz Nowacki

I thought that people with different haplogroups can be related anyway.

Izjislav and gleb was members of rurik related.

But izjislav was from rurikids, kiwan rus was asian central asia..also diferent haplogroups...its was chief tain who wa snoamds live in all one tribe place but they was mambers to the tribe chieftain.

Related as the live in one settlement...
Erthrugul turkish mongol trobe, others was drsgos from byzantine, the another ones was jnknowns tribe amd at least one was mongol tribe...some was oselenian tribe..

I'm a little confused with the genealogy of the Rurik, but both Gleb Svyatoslavich Izjaslav Ingvarevich who lived on the territory of modern Ukraine, then called Kievskaya Rus'

hi, sorry, little technical detail for (C) Ard van Bergen :

one of the Cyrillic "display names" is covering the English international name (locked fields) Grand Duke of Novgorod Rurik Sigurdsson
________
PS ..other very small detail:
-around here I have seen a preference for modern illustrations, to millenary works of art, or public statues o.O!?

Livio Scremin - I believe I solved your name “bleed thru.”

Which image from Rurik’s gallery do you like?

Erica Howton Well more ancient they are, the more precious they are :)
and usually staying aligned with Wikipedia JPGs guarantees a better search experience.

but in reality Grand Duke of Novgorod Rurik Sigurdsson is fine: looks a lot like the public statue: About he I was only pointing out his international name (for user not English & not Russian) in theory it should be English by default.. but was Russian Cyrillic
(& add the Italian TAB I'm pretty sure it's not solved for everyone^^')

about JPGs was a detail that was beginning to be evident from the generation below where I took the freedom to replace for example:
-new https://media.geni.com/p13/ad/4e/71/eb/5344485e62a825f2/i_010_origi...
whit -https://media.geni.com/p13/c6/49/bf/5e/53444840ec6335b9/olga_origin...

then it is those who manage the entire zone line who have the overview..
(I was just passing through: chasing the traces of a noob merged into multiple conflicts abandoning the other part of medieval Europe :)

Grand Duke of Novgorod Rurik Sigurdsson Should use English as a standard, funny thing, the russian alphabet became used in the Kievan Rus' since the 10th century, a century after Rurik's lifetime, so he never wrote his name in Russian Cyrillic, 100% guaranteed.

Князь Новгородский Рюрик в 9 веке не умел читать и писать на русском языке? Вот беда! А английский язык он безусловно знал! А кто из европейских королей того времени был грамотным?

Prince Rurik of Novgorod in the 9th century could not read and write in Russian? That's the trouble! And he certainly knew English! And which of the European kings of that time was literate?

English Kings were excellent at French. :)
