Elizabeth has husbands from 3 different centuries and a son from 2!

Not to mention there are 2 of her.

Could you help get this ball rolling?

Yes, this is a mess. Undoing merges. Need bios in profiles.

In who's bios? Im stuck at this quadruple crossroad.

I need to return someday to medieval cheshire things were so much simpler then.

Every profile should have a simple bio at the least. Name, parents, spouses, children. Otherwise you end up in this mess. I put a couple hours in, I’ll get back to it.

Well Im guilty of that. There are thousands without.

By the way how old was that mess?

The William Stones of Virginia have been conflated since the 1600s.

Oh, you mean profiles? Since 2007 on Geni. I’m William Stoned out. This is what I “think” might be right:

Elizabeth Stone & William Stone, of Lunenberg County

William Stone married Elizabeth Roberson. She was born about 1715 and died in 1775. William and Elizabeth migrated from York County through Henrico, Goochland, and Cumberland Counties to Lunenburg County, Virginia. William Stone's estate inventory was recorded March 3, 1761.
An inventory of estate recorded March 3, 1761 in Lunenburg County, VA Will Book 2, p.73 showed William had at least three sons, William Jr, John and Richard. The inventory was conducted by John Winn, James Pulliam and Joseph Pulliam. Est valued at 36L 1/2p.

But I have low confidence in this genealogy, and this is not to way to do it. You need to post the most recent Stone of your Interest, source & bio it, and then his parents, etc. Only then can we begin to think we might have it right.

This profile does not work as son of William & Elizabeth.

Richard Stone, Sr

Wow 14 years.

Im amazed anyone can figure things out sometimes.

It seems to me early colonial america is messier than anywhere else.

Did I mess something up? I thought I stopped short of this but still went too far.

It was stone cold confusing.

No, I don’t think you did anything wrong, particularly. I would say that there doesn’t seem to be a good genealogy of the Stones - various - and as I said, I don’t have much confidence in what I put together, either. And there may not be without a lot more serious study than we’re put in so far: and, for me, it’s an area to be returned to, after the more recent genealogy is verified.

It was certainly confusing come up to this point.
