I think that the information on these 2 families might have become confused

Family 1

children

Family 2

children

The profiles contain a lot of the same dates

Can anyone add any sources for these families?

Thomas Tabor, Free Settler "Ganges" 1797 is the son of [Thomas Taber, [Convict "Ganges" 1797] Thomas Taber, [Convict "Ganges" 1797]] and [https://www.geni.com/people/Frances-Tabor-Free-Settler-Ganges-1797/6000000043363901039 Frances Sarah Tabor, [Free Settler "Ganges" 1797]]

Afternoon Leanne;

Just noticed this conversation;

Frances & Bridget Tabor are linked by marriage to the Morley family, a cousin of mine whose parents had engaged a genealogist during the 1980s to trace their family back to James Morley who was transported on the Indefatigable in 1814.

My input was generated from that research, I will however look for some supporting evidence for the findings and place upon GENI in coming days

Afternoon Leanne;
I see what you mean with the Tabor/Taber families one & two.

A I indicated earlier I am related via my cousins to the Morley family connection etc. I haven’t got the original notes fromGenealogist (presumably someone in the Morley family may have retained). All that aside I have undertaken some research past few days and added such as sources to GENI, hopefully will assist.

I have also looked a little deeper at family 2 (Helen Brown’s input) and make the following observations (after pretending I wished to merge Daniel Tabor “tree 2” to Tomas Taber/Tabor 1763/1842 “tree1”) and doing a descendant review.

1. The was a Daniel Tabor (possibly same one referred to) who was Convict aboard Neptune 1818 of Wiltshire , I have been quite unable to identify any marriage, children in Aus or UK; he had TOL 1827 & F 1839: A Daniel Tabor died 18 Mar 1850 & is buried in Benevolent Section of Camperdown Cemetery Sydney . Sources Convict Records Aust, NSW Archives, Aus Cemetery Index.

2. A son Thomas as listed 1803 Wiltshire / 1 Jul 1864 Redfern (NSW death index shows father as a Daniel) is buried Camperdown Cemetery Sydney (Find a Grave)

3. Thomas Tabor ; I have found copy of Passenger List “Persian 1829”; a total of 14 passengers were aboard and his name does not appear upon listing (Source Sydney Gazette 7 Feb 1829 p2 & NSW Passenger Lists State Archives “Ref NRS 537014-4823”

Looking further at Ancestry website, it appears as though this family (2) has been a compilation of a number of unsourced names up to a point and copied from that site in addition to some of the detail family one as listed GENI.

Whether Thomas family two is related to Daniel family two??? Certainly the only thing to suggest a possible relationship Is the death notation Thomas.

Dates I have been able to align were
1. NSW Death Index Thomas Tabor (indicates father was a Daniel)
2. There is a marriage listed (NSW Archives) of a Thomas Tabor to a Louisa Hopkins “1862 Chippendale”
3. Marriage date Thomas & Bridget (identical to GENI family 1)
4. Dates Mary Tabor & John Morley together with children align to data existing GENI family 1.

May I suggest that you ; 1. recheck the passenger list Persian 1829 for Thomas. 2. Review Daniel Tabor as to Cobnvict Neptune 1818 (NSW Archives, Trove, Convict Records Aust, Australian Cemetery Index etc)

My thoughts would be to complete a merge Mary Tabor 1837/78 & John Morley 1826/99 together with children. Thomas Tabor & Bridget Carrol merged to family one with detail as family one . Martha & Louisa Tabor deleted as no relationship evidence to confirm same Thomas. Similarly with Daniel & Frances

I have found graves for the 2 Thomas Taber’s

Darlinghurst Gaol records 1856
Thomas Tabor per the ship Persian, 1829, native of Wiltshire, Protestant, age 43, 5 feet 6 inches tall, black hair, one brown eye, could not read or write

I don’t think that [Bridget Ann (Johnson) Carroll - Tabor [Convict "Tellicherry" 1806] Bridget Ann (Johnson) Carroll - Tabor [Convict "Tellicherry" 1806]] born 1780 can be the mother of the Tabor children as she was 53 when she married Thomas and had not had a child for 16 years.
