Johann Godfried Muller, SV/PROG can't be married to both these women - they have different parents.
Jacoba Alida Weideman
and
Jacoba Alida Weideman

Private User and Charlene Irene Viljoen - your thoughts?

There were quite a few Jacoba Alida Weydemans due to the naming convention at the time. As for Nikolaus Roets, SV/PROG, however, there was only one, namely the Progenitor. Nikolaus is known to have married Jacoba Alida Weideman, the widow of one Johann Godfried Muller, SV/PROG of Rabenstein.

I think there has been duplication (certain) and also mistaken identity (probable) with Johann and Jacoba and their namesakes.

Okay, thank you - so I'm going to disconnect Jacoba Alida Weideman as wife of Johann Godfried Muller, SV/PROG

Herman Booysen - Do we have any documentation for him?
ffyp doesn't seem to have him at all: http://www.e-family.co.za/ffy/i8.htm#s2602

Sadly, nothing in my own collection. It seems that the mostly-used source is from _Geslagsregisters van die Ou Kaapse Families_ by CC De Villiers and C Pama. It was first published in 1981 and due to copyright is not yet available on the internet. I haven't been able to find much about his father Jurgen Rütz from German/Prussian documents, and indeed find old Prussian records hard to come by. I suppose Prussia's politically turmoiled history has a lot to do with it.

But I have been working on this one for some years, and I am certain to continue searching as more and more records come into the public cyber-domain. I am a direct descendant of Nikolaus (my mother's maiden name was in fact Roets) and I hope to learn all I can of the family's history in Prussia. There MUST have been a good reason for great-great-etc. grandpa Rütz to exchange his Prussian motherland for a distant wilderness under Dutch rule.

Great - glad someone is watching it

Sorry...I didn't contribute. I switched to a new Mac from a PC laptop and Safari will not work with Geni at all so back on the laptop to see what's going on. She was definitely only married to Clemen as per DN

:-)

Somewhere I still have a CD/Book of German people who came to SA.

I will go through my stack/

On the site below, I found
https://safrika.org/Names/PersonaliaL-R.html
MÜLLER, Johann Gottfried, Oberloquitz, 1778
MÜLLER, Johann Gottfried, Rabenstein in Sachsen, 1776

https://safrika.org/Personalia_en.html

But that is what I see.

A bit busy today.

Stay well.
