I will be working to find the correct path but this should be a descendant of Capt. John Basse, Sr. through his son William “elder” Bass, Sr.

He is probably victim of a bad merge. Father is John 1673...

Moving him there.

Thank you for caring about these profiles <3

Is this William the son of John Bass and Love Harris ?

Not according to the Y dna on the profile.

Someone made a bunch of merges based on name only and I think they are back to,their correct male haplo groups now.

Cynthia, thanks for your diligent, enlightening work on these lines. They're direct for Jamey but with the incorrect connections it appeared his paternal line and mine shared ancestry in John Basse from England, which turns out not to be true. So that was something I needed to know. And I had no idea until you put all this together correctly that Jamey had an African ancestor. So it has been important to me to know the actual DNA facts on the connections. Again, thank you.

Just to clarify for all. If you discover your ancestor is the African father of William 1654, your DNA Hap group was A1a which is now M31 V25 cluster 3. It is very rare and very old.
