The funeral of Mrs. Michael Crowe, whose death we recorded in last issue, took place on Saturday afternoon last. Many residents here rode out some distance to join the long rank of mourners who afterwards passed slowly through our town to the Catholic burial ground in the North Gundagai cemetery, where the remains of the departed were interred, the burial service being read by the Rev. Father Twomey. The deceased was esteemed and respected by all who knew her, and deep and general sympathy was expressed for her bereaved husband, family, and relatives. Commenting upon her untimely end the 'Southern Argus' says: — "The Yass people will regret to hear of the death of Mrs. Crowe, wife of Mr. Michael Crowe, late hotelkeeper at Gundagai, and eldest daughter of Mr. Owen Hilly, formerly of Yass. Mrs. Crowe wns a universal favourite in Yass; she was a true Christian woman, a fond wife and loving mother, and her early death will be regretted by all to whom she was known.

(FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT).
DEATH OF MRS. CROWE — On Wednesday night, 8th instant, word was brought to our village that Mrs. Crowe, wife of Mr. Michael Crowe, senr., of Marengo Fiats, had died on that evening. Mrs. Crowe had been suffering from general weakness for a long time previous, so that the end was not unexpected. During her lengthy illness her many relatives and friends had been unceasing in their attention and care, as also had the Rev. Fathers Kennedy and McAlroy in their visits. The deceased lady had the happiness of seeing her large family crow up round her, as they are nearly all settled hereabouts., Quite a host of grand- children assembled at the last. Mrs Crowe was a sister of Mrs. C. Cullen, of Marengo, and Mrs. T. Woodbridge, of Fisher's Creek. The funeral took place on Thursday, and was very largely attended, the Rev. Father McAlroy reading the burial service. The fullest sympathy is expressed for the bereaved relatives who form a large and respected portion of this community.

Death of' Mr. M. T. Crowe.—
The death occurred 0n Thursday night of last week of Michael Thomas Crowe, of "Lissen Green," between Tocumwal and Finley. Deceased, who was 82 years of age had been suffering from lung trouble for some time and death followed an attack of pneumonia, which appears to be more than usually prevalent in these districts this year. The late Mr. Crowe was one of the oldest residents in the Tocumwal district, and no one was more widely respected than he. He was residing with a married brother and a son at "Lissen Green," and everything possible was done for the sufferer. The remains were interred in the Roman Catholic portion of the Tocumwal cemetery on Sunday afternoon when a good many district residents followed the body to its last earthly resting place. The funeral service was impressively read by the Rev. Father Bossonce, and the mortuary arrangements were conduct ed by Mr. S. Hutson.
