The Ruffins of Virginia have no known connection with the Ruthvens of Scotland. It looks like the Ruffins came from County Kent in England (near London). We can disprove the Scots origin and have parish birth records and will evidence to support the English origin. I haven’t looked into DNA studies but I have a lot of confidence they would support this. Hope this helps. How are you related?

there is a john Ruthven, who was in the military
whose father is a Ruthven born in Ontario, Canada !!!

Ruffin is separate - and; stand alone discussion NOT related to Ruthven
(up to YEAR 1600) further exploration is being done in years before 1600 !!!

As, I start to check many of these
they are falling under the Scotland/Ontario immigration
then; the immigration into the USA

The so-called RUTHVEN ranch; was NOT spelled as Ruthven, but, as, ruhlven
- and, there is no proof of any of these RUFFiNs BEING related to RUTHVEN !!!
