On Wikipedia (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Akiva_ha-Kohen) it says his fathers name is Menachem. It says the same thing in encyclopedia judaica (https://www.encyclopedia.com/religion/encyclopedias-almanacs-transc...) and Jewish virtual library (https://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/budapest). What is his fathers name?
in all the sources I've found, both are described as in-laws of the shlah, both have 25 kids, both served King Mattias I, both lived in Budapest, they were called Nasi, they faced antisemitism from members of the royal court, and they died in 1496. These sources, some hebrew and some english, all refer to the Akiva of this Geni page.
There is no doubt in my mind that these are the same person.

The second book in the list of 5/26/2020 states that Rabbi Dr J Simcha Cohen is a 16th generation descendant of R' Yosef HaCohen Katz (she'erit Yosef) who is in turn the 2x ggs of Akiva the Elder. It would be interesting if we could connect R' Simcha with the She'erit Yosef tree.
