The Will is in New Hanover County, NC, which is where the above Mary Ross Beale's family was said to be.

According to the Index, there is also a Will for a William Ross d. 1760 in New Hanover County, which would be the right date for the father of Mary Ross Beale, but the page # in the index doesn't match the numbering of the Wills, so it might take me a minute to find it.

Les Ross... William John Ross's daughter Susannah Halsey married Henry Halsey.

Henry Halsey's 1st cousin Mary Ross married Matthias Ross who was the great-grandson of George Ross of Elizabethtown.

So, it seems possible that there was a family connection between William John Ross and George Ross of Elizabethtown.
