Hi Hatte,
I am uncertain of the reliability of Clarence E. Leonard's (comp.) work entitled "Fulton-Hayden-Warner Ancestry in America" (1923), but he has a section in Part II, "Waite-Hayden Ancestry." He presents Joseph Waite's marriage to Sarah Stone, widow of Joseph Stone, and that she was daughter of John and Mary (Woodward) Waite born in Watertown on October 26, 1672. If Leonard is correct, this would make her 2nd husband, Joseph Waite, her 1st cousin. Rosa Lane
Rose Lane -- I will tentatively add this information and see if there are any primary records for Watertown to validate it. Thank you very much! I know that my family had cousin marriages back in that era.

Her father and his father were brothers.
Thank you, Hatte. I could only find 3 children of Joseph and Sarah Waite: Priscilla, b. in Watertown April 14, 1707; John, bp. in Lexington on Sept. 26, 1708; and Rebecca, bp. in Lexington on April 8, 1711. Does this match your records? By 1711, I think Sarah was getting close to the end of her bearing years. Joseph and Sarah's children are listed on p. 762 in: Temple, J.H., History of North Brookfield, Massachusetts, Preceded by an Account of Old Quabaug, Indian and English Occupation, 1647-1676; Brookfield Records, 1686-1783. (Brookfield, MA, Published by the Town of Brookfield and Printed by Rand Avery Co. in Boston, 1887), I found that Joseph Waite of Malden is often conflated with Joseph Waite of Watertown, who were living about the same time. The children of Joseph of Malden seem to be miss-assigned to the Joseph of Watertown, which also ignored the condition that Sarah (Waite) would have been having children toward age 50, unlikely for the times. Onward, Rosa Lane
Hatte: I just saw that there was a question in the thread about Sarah's children that she had with 1st husband Joseph Stone. These children were listed in Joseph Stone's probate records because the court appointed Francis Bowman as a guardian for all 6 of them. Per probate records: Sarah and Joseph Stone (d. Jan. 17, 1702/3) had six children, who were named along with their ages during probate court session held on December 13, 1705. The children's names and ages on that day were identified as follows: Lydia (age 12), Isaac (age 10), Joseph (age 9), Abigail (age 7), Sarah (age 5), and Tabitha (age 3). Again, Francis Bowman of Cambridge Farms (now Lexington), Middlesex, Massachusetts Bay Colony was made guardian of all six children. Also the Find A Grave (FAG) Memorial is incorrect re: Sarah's birth year (1686). She would have been only about 6 when she married Joseph Stone and about 7 giving birth to her 1st child! Also, In the FAG Memorial a maiden name of "White" is provided. I wrote to John Parker, Memorial creator, for clarification and sources on these two pieces of vital data. I will keep you posted. Rose Lane - Thank you. I'll take a look at all the good information and make sure the tree reflects it and your sources.
Do you know who Abigail Stone married? I started working in the Waite, Stone, Merriam and Cutler families because it's unclear which Abigail married John Cutler.
There is Abigail Merriam, Abigail Stone, daughter of Joseph Stone and Sarah Waite Stone, and Abigail Stone, daughter of John Stone b. 1654 and Mary ( ), of Lexington. There may be a 4th Abigail. Sources and the Geni tree are unclear.
Hatte, WikiTree cites Abigail Merriam (bp. November 6, 1698 in Lexington) as marrying John Cutler (b. June 3, 1696) on January 9, 1724 in Watertown. This John Cutler was nephew to Sarah Cutler who married Thomas Waite. Abigail Merriam was daughter of Robert and Abigail (Cutler) Merriam. I sense some more cousin marriages going on here :)) WikiTree seems to include ample sources supporting the above: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Merriam-675
I hope this helps assuming I got the correct John Cutler. Rosa
