by Gattilusio story we know for sure:
pirate Francesco I Gattilusio, archon of Lesbos & Niccolo Gattilusio, 1st lord of Ainos are brothers, but don't know which child of Luchetto Gattilusio, poeta
so:
*Luchetto Gattilusio, poeta
**NN (or Franceschino, or Nicolò, or Domenico, or Obertino)
***pirate Francesco I Gattilusio, archon of Lesbos
marries "Maria" Palaiologina
***Niccolo Gattilusio, 1st lord of Ainos
---------
by Adorno table we know:
*Luchetto Gattilusio, poeta
**Domenico Gattilusio, genoese patrician
***Caterina Gattilusio wife of Guglielmo Adorno, genoese patrician
-----
here on GENI but also on other online genealogies (example by Francesco Maria Cicogna Mozzoni ) there is/was a matching name and dates to duplicate
pirate Francesco I Gattilusio, archon of Lesbos BRO of Caterina Gattilusio
- I will resolve the conflict ready to be easily solved by merge X Gattilusio to Domenico Gattilusio, genoese patrician (if someone can at least write two lines of explanation, even if hypothesized)
- or by assigning the parents (N to remain in this situation of doubt.. if no one will answer in the coming days :)
Tested tree: looks good so far.
Brooke Shields is pirate Francesco I Gattilusio, archon of Lesbos' 19th great granddaughter

I see here http://www.genmarenostrum.com/pagine-lettere/letteraa/Adorno/ADORNO...
2) Caterina Gattilusio, figlia di Domenico Gattilusio, Patrizio Genovese
However, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domenico_Gattilusio “Domenico reigned over the island of Lesbos for three years. He was deposed by his younger brother Niccolò, who had him imprisoned and ordered his execution by the garrote. Domenico married Maria Giustiniani-Longo. They had no known children.“
Was there another Domenico Gattilusio, genoese patrician or is Wiki missing info?
How good is the source claiming parents for her?
long ago I also thought it was good in middle, then actually I saw especially in these characters more than historical (medieval!) the Roman number must be an integral part of the numbering name, this avoids a lot of complications in searches and notifications.. in image tags.. search engine.. genealogical data exchange.. and above all when you have to compile a character with 3 names where you put the number, and what name? ;D
(Also notice wife listed on Geni is Siffredina Gattilusio not Maria Giustiniani-Longo - so another wife ?
Ive seen the Roman numeral after first name mostly, actually. That’s better - middle name field for a nickname in quotes, suffix for a toponym or occupation distinction. I’ll fix the one above.

You could write something up for Italian names perhaps, especially transition & multi lingual periods.
Found the article on the freebooters family

actually for the most part (not all) if the nickname is the only real element that helps to distinguish it, put the nickname directly on the suffix without "quotes".
When you put it in the middle name, or when you insert it in the name displayed in one of those dukes, counts, principles ... which carry the title in the surname, the "quotes" help a lot :)
Erica Howton I have fixing the namesake that confused you (just only 3 min): Domenico Gattilusio, 5th lord of Lesbos
*linked encyclopedic pages
*dates
*suffix numbered title
*family JPG TAG
*found the wife's father name, so family & so connected merging (and cleaned of myriad parenthesis set by those unfamiliar / knew setting the name preferences: it would be very useful that the default settings were set to birth surname .. it would help beginners not to mess^^)
Happy!? XD
since you unlocked it, look how I set up the birth name and dynastic numbering ;)
Jacopo "Francesco ll" Gattilusio is one of the few cases in which the nickname is perfectly in the quoted middlename! :D
