Ton TielenTon and 3 others manage the membership, moderators, settings, and posts for The Sephardic Diaspora. Benjamin Musaphia most surely was not Dionysius. this goes way back to a mistake made by Herman Kellenbenz ( Sephardim an der unteren Elbe, see image) who thought that Benjamin was a (half-)brother of Alberto Dyonis aka Alvaro Denis. Since Alvaro Denis was from circa 1570 and Benjamin Musaphia was from 1605, even for half-brothers this is something of a stretch. This mistake has been perpetuated by the likes of Joseph ben Brith and Lynn Lewis who are just parroting Kellenbenz. There is no evidence for this. Nor is there anything to tie Benjamin Musaphia to Moses Musaphia, so far.
