Jason Scott Wills has had a user message:

"There is a mistake in the lineage - my Paternal Great Grandmother - Maria Elizabeth Warrington
her father → Johannes Michiel Henn, c1
was not married to → Christina Gertruida Henn
daughter of → Gesina Johanna MAREE
daughter of → Johannes Petrus Maree, b2c4d3
his father → Lucas Jacobus Maree, b1c4d8 etc.

Johannes Michiel Henn was married to Henrietta Wilhelmina Henn only had one wife. I have checked his death notice."

I'm not seeing the DN, so would like comment from managers. I can undo merges to check if a mismerge was the problem.

cf undone merges:
Johannes (manager Private User)
Johannes Michiel Henn, c1 (manager Mattheus Johannes Geldenhuys, Boetie)

Neither has the extra wife - Remerging

William Michael, can you upload the DN?

Private Christina Gertruida Henn is managed by you - can you come and check what you think?

A MH Match (not always correct) has her married to Johannes Jacobus Petrus Henn

Christina Gertruida Petronell Henn (born Swart)
MyHeritage Family Trees
Family Tree in Ratcliff Family Web Site, managed by Lee-Ann Ratcliff (Contact)
Birth: 1817
Parents: Barend Uitkyk Swart, Gesina Johanna Swart (born Maree)
Husband: Johannes Jacobus Petrus Henn

As I am not a manager there I prefer not to do anything without a Death Notice at least, for all parties.

Johann Ahlers are veyry thorough and have lots of DN's personally. I think we must try and get him into the discussion.

The @ won't bring up his name though..

She is my direct line through du Plessis/Jacobs/Fourie/Gronewald, her mother. Will try and find something after the weekend.

Private Ek het vir jou 'n boodskap gestuur met skakels na die sterfkennisse. Van 'n hele paar mense hier genoem en ook familielede.

Private User baie dankie. Ek het dit op leer.
Ek sal sodra ek dit alles op my Persoonlike Familielêer gekontroleer het, dit ook hier regmaak. I find this works better as it prevents more than one person on a profile per day, which only cause havoc.
Johan Ahlers ek sal bly wees as jy ook net kyk, as it is you profile.☺

Dankie.
Judi

Please put them on geni, Judi .Putting them on your personal files and releasing them so only one person can work on them per day isn't how Geni collaboration works.

DNs shouldn't really be disputable.

Sharon Doubell I understand why Private wants to "kontroleer" check in her personal files first. From what I could gather from these documents is that there's been quite a mix up in this family.

... and there's actually one where I think the mothers' maiden name was reported incorrectly, so yes, that one may actually be disputable.

Private, really sorry for the loss of your friend. Thinking of you in this difficult time.

Thanks for uploading, Private User. It doesn't seem to have a wife's name. Just that he was married at the time of death.

Thank you Charmaine. A hard week lies ahead. Chris was only 65, Still so young.

Sharon Doubell as Private User said above, I have found that to work much faster and easier.

In the past 6 months I have uploaded and corrected a big amount of Estates and DN's that I am taking of m PC and putting the needed ones on Legacy and also all the others as well as those on Geni, and corrected family lines that way.

It is very time consuming as Jan has checked and I have about 5000 photo's I have taken in the archives between 1985-2015.

What I do is take "gesin" for "gesin" and as soon as I have my own PDF with all the relevant documents, i.e. DN's, Wills, R & L's, baptism and marriages I start correcting it on Geni for all to use, download or what they need.

Further I have found that when more than one person works on a profile at the same time, it can become quite irritating for all.

I am sure I am always working collaborative as far as possible. In my eye, there is no use in haveing "My Tree/Registers". If I past away tomorrow a lives work will be lost.

Groot mondvol in Engles van die boervrou.☺

Have a lovely day.

Wives' names still seem too similar. Did he marry two sisters? Is either of them a confusion with Christina Gertruida Henn.

Sharon Doubell, To confuse this, even more, the death notice I found for Christina Gertruida Swart mentions her husband as Johannes Hendrik Henn. So there could also be more than one Christina Gertruida Petronella Swart.

In my personal opinion, we should just give Private time to look at the death notices I gave her the links to and make the corrections when she's certain of who married whom. Once that's been done everybody can take a look again as to see if they agree but I agree with Judi when multiple people start making changes in a specific line where there are errors as in this instance, it gets very confusing.

Result of merging two dangling trees:
Johannes Jacobus Petrus Henn x
Catharina Petronella Henn (Groenewald) xx
Catharina Elisabeth Groenewald, b2c6d2e7

Johannes Jacobus Petrus Henn = 2 different people according to the death notices.

If you have the DNs put them on the profile - Keeping them behind the scenes is just bizarre.

I've unmerged the Johannes Jacobus Petrus Henns - they were last in a long merge chain of exactly duplicated profiles of family members - including parents, suggested as outstanding merges in the area once I'd finished attaching all the children of Johannes Michiel Henn to his DN.

I'm not a manager of any of these profiles therefor I'm not making any changes. There are just too many if's here and I don't know the family well enough to add possible DN's. I collaborate with Private that's why I sent the information to her as I noticed her interest in this family.

Private User you are indeed correct. I am working with them, but it really takes time.
Sharon Doubell please be patient with me. I will add them and are not hiding them at all.
Yesterday I was working on a du PLESSIS uncle of my ouma du PLESSIS with a photo I have taken in 2012 at Pretoria Archives.

Looking at the profile on Geni it was totally merged with a incorrect one with the same names and he had two wives which are correct, but different people. The ones that were merged, had the same names but diffirent parents, and that reasulted in children of the him and his 1st wife, no kids with the second one, being stepbrothers and sisters.

I reversed the merges - needless to say all had one user in all merges, but as this is an open discussion I will not name anybody,

Long story short, I went back to my Legacy programme, got all DN's and marraige sertificates and up to a point added them on Geni as well.

This unfortunately took me the whole day and I realized again of how important it is to do it on your home PC first.

Yes Charmaine, Henn is my direct line through my dad.

This week is difficult so I will spend the time I have on my programme and then place the PDF family sheets on Geni as well, to make it easier.

Have a wonderful day.

Judi

Okay, so you've added DN's and marriage certificates to Geni? That's very useful. Thank you.

Private, do you have documents for Jason Scott Wills' original question about
Johannes Michiel Henn, c1
not married to → Christina Gertruida Henn?
but married only ever to Henrietta Wilhelmina Henn?

The DN uploaded by M Venter doesn't give a wife's name, and I've already checked by unmerging that it isn't a smerge of two erroneous profiles.
