Hi

I use HistoryLink on a daily basis to figure out which areas of my family tree to focus on to complete the next generation in my ancestry research.

Right now the page is down and I get some script error instead:

"Error

I received the following message "An error occurred with Geni. Possible Issue: Third Party Cookies disabled."
I checked the cookies settings on my browser and all is good.

It must have been a glitch, it's working now. Thank you.

Love it when things fix themselves. :)

Me too, I often receive all kinds of error messages. Must be because of where (country) I'm working from.

It does not work for me. I changed a browser and tried again. Got a message An error occured with Geni. Possible Issue: Third Party Cookies disabled.

If I try to click Ancestor Graph t asks again permission to access your Geni account and goes back to first page with error message: An error occured with Geni. Possible Issue: Third Party Cookies disabled.

My cookies are just fine,,, AND... the site is still down... Such a great tool! I'm missing it, Private User ;)

I went ahead and restarted the server. Hopefully that will fix whatever was causing the issues.

If that doesn't help, maybe try to logout.

logout link gives this:

i tried to logout from geni, cleared history/cookies, removed app rights from geni, no work. history search and ancestor graph gives that cookie-error, forest density calculator works just fine.

(en) Jouni Ilari Konttinen - I just tried History Search from your profile, and it worked fine for me using Chrome browser.

4/24/2018 at 2:07 PM

However the lovely new https://historylinktools.herokuapp.com/bio is just hanging on the server

(Chrome on iPhone)

4/24/2018 at 4:26 PM

(en) Jouni Ilari Konttinen,

Could it be a problem with an add blocker or other extension?

4/24/2018 at 11:41 PM

no it was not a problem in my computer, it was worked fine before and it is not a problem anymore, now that works. do not know what has been done in geni/historylink between 30.3. and the day i realized that this is working again.. (about 20.4.)

4/24/2018 at 11:46 PM

and yes, as i noted in 30.3., forest density calculator worked fine and the error "Error
argument of type 'type' is not iterable" was from the historylink site..

4/24/2018 at 11:54 PM

sorry my bad.. the error was surely that "An error occured with Geni. Possible Issue: Third Party Cookies disabled.", not that first copy paste. ;)

4/25/2018 at 4:27 PM

(en) Jouni Ilari Konttinen,

Third Party Cookies disabled. is a setting on your computer.

So if that is really the problem it could have been changed by you (or another person with access to your computer). But it could also have been changed by an add blocker or other extension or program that you installed or updated.

4/25/2018 at 4:29 PM

You could try to enable it again if you know how to do that.
If you have another browser on your computer you could try using that.

4/25/2018 at 6:06 PM

no. that problem was NOT ON MY COMPUTER. nothing was changed on my computer when that stopped working and nothing has changed today when that works again. i also tried all the browsers, problem was somehow in geni-historylink. i do not know what there have been done for that.

4/25/2018 at 6:09 PM

that was also tried with a multiple computers and users as you can see in this post history.

At the moment (Dec 11 2018), , https://historylinktools.herokuapp.com/graph?profile=profile-g60000... (trying to trace Y-DNA descendants) hangs. Known issue?

12/11/2018 at 1:48 AM

Error message in JS console: jquery.min.js:4 GET https://historylinktools.herokuapp.com/graphprocess?profile=profile... 503 (Service Unavailable)

12/13/2018 at 11:45 AM

Very sad to notice the Ancestor graph is not working. What might be the cause?
There is no error messages, it just starts generating first generation, and is stuck and wont finish or proceed the task. Same thing happened with other profiles too.

I broke it when I fixed the adoption bug in History Search. I just pushed an update, so hopefully it's fixed now.
