Sarah Martha (Ball) McCarty (abt. 1705 - 1786) might connect the McCarty/McCarthys of North Carolina with the McCarthys of Virginia if it can be shown she is related to the Jacob McCarty who married Mary Morrow. (my ancestor)
Hanna Atherold may descend from Alfred the Great.
Atherold's have Henry Green as an ancestor, who was high justice of the king's bench *(and may himself descend from Alfred the Great).
It would be nice to confirm some DNA cousins from this lineage.
