Thanks Dimitri Gazan.
I think that it is now a simple separation of a wife from a husband who belong to another profile of the same name (and taking their child with them). I found ways of doing everything else, but it won't actually perform the severing of these relationships. Please PM me, anyone who can help.
:-)
Just noticed this after responding to your message, Pam Karp - thanks.
I had another email going about another matter with @Judith... (Hmmm, it's not offering me her name to tag her - but I'll get in touch if we don't manage to resolve it between us after my last PM.)
Hi Judi Private (got your name to appear this time!)
Thanks - as per PMs, all sorted now. Much obliged. :-)
It seemed to be all down to Geni not allowing me to remove a second and incorrect marriage relationship to a person who just didn't belong in that family at all. It gave me the box to tick to remove it, but didn't save my change. I guess there is a reason for this (but any explanation by any curator is welcome!). Perhaps one needs to have credentials to do this?
Another one - a more famous profile, hence may need some discussion amongst curators about one aspect of it.
Admiral Horatio Nelson, 1st Viscount Nelson, KB
Was never married to Harriet Rhees, and there's no evidence of any ongoing relationship, and the claimed child (named Horatio Nelson Rhees by his mother) may or may not be his. I did a bit of digging around this issue, although not extensively as yet.
@Ric Dickinson (wouldn't tag!) has made a note about this up top of the profile, but I think that at the very least the marriage relationship should be severed.
Emma Hamilton was his longterm mistress and bore a (well-documented) daughter, so she should remain as his partner, imo.
Please break relationship between Caroline Reed and Nelson Harvey Chittenden born 1810, the year after Caroline died. Please leave her other marriage to the correct Nelson.
Thank you!
I'm an idiot, and merged Boniface Pickering
with
Boniface Pickering, of Thorpe-by-Water
I of course realised as I hit the button that I'd clicked the wrong thing OMG, this should be something I can undo myself.
I have merged the wrong persons ( Ivan Zrnčić ) and when I tried to unmerge the profile, becouse now the person has two pairs of parents, it was impossible. I can`t delete the relation between parents. The real parents of my relative Ivan Zrnčić are Pavao Zrnčić and Lucija Zrnčić , not Nikola Zrnčić and Nikola Zrnčić . So, that are two different people in one profile. If you could unmerge that profile, I would be thankful.
Angus Wood-Salomon
Thanks Angus.
That is probably the best we can do for now, although I have searched high and low for a trustworthy source of information for proof of this liaison and offspring and have so far been unable to find anything.
This page from another genealogy site
http://www.cragun.com/genealogy/getperson.php?personID=I1521&tr... (See Family 1, and scroll down to see it all)
Contains quite a long note speculating on the likelihood of such a liaison, and the author concludes that it's unlikely, but leaves the relationship in place anyway.
I am going to get a couple of biographies of Nelson from the library and see if any of them mention Rhees.
It is a pity that Horatio Rhees comes first in the list of Nelson's children on Geni, although Horatia was born before Rhees was born, but as they are both recorded as only children, there doesn't seem to be any way of changing this... or is there?
Also, Horatio Rhees did have other siblings (born to his mother), according to some information I came across the other day, so he wasn't an only child even without Horatia...
Oh, the challenges of establishing the paternity of children, espcially so long ago!
Could someone please adjust the following profile to reflect his death:
Willard Grant Clegg
His obit can be found here:

Thanks!
There's a bad merge here, Mary Roselpha Keith
It may have been merged before our ability to recover from bad merges.
Jonathan Scott Krengel
The merge has been undone, Mary Roselpha Keith and Mary Price are separate profiles now. I have contacted the User that did the merge.
