Thanks Angus.

regarding Frances A Eland
She has now two husbands whose dates of birth are more than 50 years apart; I think it is because of an incorrect merge I did about an hour ago

Ard van Bergen They are now un-merged.

Thanks, Eldon,

can you then also annul the marriage between George Francis Eland and Frances A Eland

I am neither the pope nor the manager of these profiles, so unfortunately cannot do it myself.

Then both Frances's will be married to a single George each

Private User,

DoB has been corrected and have unlocked it for you.

thanks again Eldon
I think all problems I spotted in this area are now solved

Private User I have added the marriage date with a source document to the profile of Barend Koekoek, left it locked as I assume it is locked for a reason and by another curator.

thanks Private User

Hi,
If anyone is bored and enjoys a challenge, here is an area of the tree with many problems/inconsistencies with dates: Elizabeth Arnold.
I stumbled on the area even though it is not part of my family. It has me curious so I will work on it as time permits but perhaps curator tools would help diagnose and undo the issues (perhaps bad merges).
Thanks,
Jim

I'm writing in Danish - hope you don't mind, but it's a Danish thing.

Er der en Curator med kendskab til de gamle, danske profiler, der vil se på en kommentar på denne profil :
Henrik Ebbesen Udsen, 1.led

Hi again,
You may ignore my earlier request. I have fixed a lot of the tree and will continue later this afternoon. It is not worth your time to undo possible merges. It is easier to do a profile to profile fix (which I am doing).
Jim

Complaint for the programmers -- When I enter the city and state and the data base fills in the rest, it also enters the information in the "place name". The end result is extra work. To enter a cemetery name, I have to overwrite or delete the city information and zip code from the "place name". If I change the city, I also must delete what the program placed in the "place name". This is a very recent change (yesterday or today) that is annoying.

Hi Private User,
Merges completed. I haven't resolved any of the data conflicts.

Private User,
There are 2 young boys and 2 young girls which might be duplicates. If you come across them while resolving data conflicts, you can post them in this discussion.

Jim Wile I appreciate your frustration with the new changes to populating the Place Name field. We've modified the code to select the contents of that field as soon as you expand the Location Details, so all you have to do is start typing (or press backspace / delete) -- does that make things easier for you?

Thanks Mike Stangel. I experimented with Place of Burial. To enter a cemetery name and lot number, I must type it in front of the populated Place Name field. If I erase the contents of the Place Name field and then add the cemetery name, only the cemetery name shows on top of the profile data (not the city or state even though it shows on the expanded location details).
If you want an opinion, it was easier for me the way it was.
However, I applaud you and the programmers for the many improvements to Geni (the ability to distinguish between adopted, biological, and foster children; the ability to choose languages; and the responsiveness to us)!!

One more thought, Mike Stangel. Is it viable to include a brief notification of recent changes that affect the use of Geni as is done with emails, discussion updates, etc.? Thanks either way! Jim

Let's make tomorrow Curator appreciation day! Everyone gets a day to work on their own trees rather than helping us with ours!

Woot! Nice idea Jim Wile. That said, if it's one global tree then we are all always working on our own tree even when we technically aren't ;-)

+1
