To Abby Bergman -- and to Curators --
I am a Geni PRO user, but only became one recently, and i am still learning my way around some of the functions here. I am having the same trouble -- and i think that many Ashkenazi Jews will recognize this issue, as our families had many cousin marriages in times past. I found two different paths to a person, one through marriage and one that is directly by DNA. Then i found a second direct-DNA connection, even shorter. But when i go to the person's profile, Geni always calculates the marriage connection, which is random and lengthy and really useless to my conceptualization of the relationships, as my interest is in DNA, not marriages.
I always assumed that once a new, shorter path was found, Geni automatically recalculated, but i am no longer sure that this is true. Is it, or not?
Furthermore, i see that primacy is not given to DNA-paths over marriage paths. Why not?
This is the first time i have heard that currators can "force" the program to recalculate a path. Is this true?
Thanks for all your help. I am enjoying my PRO account greatly and recommending it to all my friends and relatives.
