Ann Thanks,

I know that page, but there are so many projects that it is hard to browse through them all. Without knowing that a project exists it may be hard to find when it is not a recent project. Even when you do know or can suspect a project exists it may be hard to find if you do not know the name or the tags it may have.

I was hoping there might be an index. Because there are so many projects it is also difficult to know if you should start a new project or that a very similar project may already exist. That is one of the reasons me made the index for the Dutch projects. The problem with it is that the index is a project and so it is hard to find if you do not know it exits.

Job -try the search box on the projects dashboard. If you search a few keywords in turn and don't find a project then it's probably okay to start a new project.

@ There is an international project index but I am not sure how up to date this is http://www.geni.com/projects/International-Projects-Index/4925

Private User,
All 4 are merged.

The following individual appears to have 4 different parents listed (perhaps as a result of an incorrect merge having took place?):

John Frederic Foster, of Sale Priory, County Chester

The same also appears to be true for the profile of Sir Frank Whittle, the British inventor of the first jet engine:

Sir Frank Whittle

(Apologies in advance if I have posted this in the wrong thread, I am an enthusiastic newbie here and still getting to grips with Geni).

Best Regards

Unknown Profile should be public and merged with Henry V, king of England

Good observation..I compared that profile with My Heritage and it shows his parents as
Frederic William Foster, Bishop and Anna Louisa Eleanora Foster (born La Trobe)

http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000011846099142#600000001...

Ard van Bergen

If you notice Unknown Profile was added by King Edward III

King Edward lll was reported as a Claimed Historical Profile..the profiles he added might be removed (there are not many)

@angus wood-salomon
yes, of course, the profile can be deleted because it is completely redundant

Private User,

Thanks for the reference. It is not complete (it could never be).
There are some 47,000 projects on Geni according to Google.
(search for site:http://www.geni.com/projects) with some 24,500 that have project in the name.

There are also nearly 8,000 project tags (search for site:http://www.geni.com/projects/tag). Structuring the tags into an index may be useful for finding projects that may have useful data.

Plaese help me add a manager I can'y make it work. Samuel Darby, Private User She already said it was ok but i can't get the add a manager to work

William Owen "Bill" Irwin If you requested Gaye to be a manager, from the add manager, she has to reply yes or no to the Geni message

I put her name in the field but Geni can't find her

Bill - she can request management. Other trick: visit her profile 1st, then add her as a manager. The "short list" needs refreshing now and again.

Private User
Both done

I too prefer the thread to the discussion. Sometime the discussion get cray and rambling.I am more interested in following the trail and that's that. Yet, it nice to have some info too. The problem is, that info gets put in and someone comes along and re writes it or completely changes it.
