The time stamps are automated, so unless you happen to be having a discussion with someone in the same time zone as yourself those times are meaningless because we all see the time stamp per our own settings.

If you actually click on the time stamp of a specific post it will subtly alter the URL your server is displaying, copy that URL and paste it to the discussion and everyone can follow the hyperlink to the exact message you want them to know about

The message was a bit "muddy", i think you wanted the merge you completed on William Gronos undone? So that is what i did.

I have discovered that if I copy and paste the discussion - it loses all the hyper-links which is really annoying.

I naively merged my Bela Havas' profile with the one put up by balazs deri (sic. no capital). My mother was horrified when she realised that he added an extra sibling to him and this is balazs deri's ancestor. Please remove 'amalia herz' from my tree!
I have reason to suspect that balazs deri after research connect his family in the late nineteen century with rich families. He uses the official German version of the first names which was not used in the family. Susan Reichenfeld in his guestbook also reports an unknown sibling of her grandfather, who also owned a factory as mine did.
In his immediate family deri lists six 'parents'. The name of one his stepfathers is 'the clone of éva törzsök'.

Believe another un do merge is necessary now so have un merged Adolf / Jozsef Herz from Adolf / Jozsef Herz

And Theresia Herz from Theresia Herz

If there are re merges, we won't be able to undo a 2nd time, so think about requesting MPs to keep the "grandiosity" away ....

I have tried but it says it will split the tree - and as a basic user I don't have approval to do that.

Thanks for removing 'amalia herz'.
Bela Havas was my grandfather. He had two sisters Aranka and Irma and a brother Jeno. It seems that you removed the later too. Would you put him and his family back or shall I rewrite them?
Sorry for the inconvenience. I probably will not dare to request (or rather agree with) MP ever again.

I disconnected the four US Byrnes children from their Australian parents.

They are now floating free on the internet so perhaps connect them all again via a new parent using the Smart Matches as a guide?

Hi Alex, I don't trust some of the my.heritage information as it appears to have been updated from the incorrect connections on GENI. One of those vicious circles.

I will have a look and see what I can connect.

Could a curator please detach William Grono from Mary Ann Hobbs.

Her husband was a different William.

Once detached I can merge this William with his brother William who married Frances BOOKS.

Thanks very much on all the help in cleaning up this line. There were at one point up to 6 profiles for the same person.

Private User and @Michael (name won't display) - yes, unfortunately so. Frustrating though that Smart Matches can be so easily added but not so easily removed, apparently. I have messaged both the person who created the SMs (on Geni) and also MyHeritage and explained the error and problem, so can only hope that eventually someone will get the message.

It's a bit of a silly error, because it links landed gentry in Norfolk with an "indentured servant" who went with his master to the colonies...

Oh well. I won't be holding my breath.

I've tried recently to initiate a merge of two profiles of my distant relative who is a Geni user (one of them was created by me and other is being claimed by him). However when I'm pointing to the other profile, I'm getting the error: "You don't have permission to view this page" instead of the compare page.

I've tried to search why such error occurred but found only this bug report:

I'm not sure what may be done in such situation.
The profiles in question are: Jehuda Leib Feitelson and Jehuda Leib Feitelson

Using the occasion I'd like to ask what is the Geni policy of dealing with situations when a merge with Geni users profile cannot be completed, as they are inactive on Geni and didn't login to approve the merge.
