It really bugs me when Geni starts acting strangely and the (few) people who konw what's really going on can't or won't tell the rest of us. :-P

Yor problem seems to be same as with the Hoag/Goodwin profiles which are in my emery ancestry and I wen and checked out your listing as those profiles are of my direct descent also and checked them out and seems to bee the same thing as just happened to me @Angus Wood-Salomon says " Just ignore those matches for a while. They are a temporary part of some new feature Geni is working on.
Stay tuned..."

Would of been nice to be warned that this was occurring... :-)

I am not doing any merge requests at the moment So thank you for the heads up if there are issued then maybe I should leave my merge list alone for a while....

Private User I agree with you.. If they are tweaking things then we should have a right to know.. within reason unless.... that way we can work for the good instead of against it... I have like a zillon merges and mergre requests waiting and if they are being privtized and made unmanageable that helps neither side

Somebody has been tampering with Grace Neale 's children. There are a couple of Pseudo-Private profiles attached as "children": "<private> O'Neale" and "husband" "<private> O'Hara". It looks suspiciously as though somebody has been trying to reattach the FICTITIOUS "Lady Grace O'Neil" to the actual Neale tree.

We've been through this many times before. "Lady Grace O'Neil" is a FICTION - there *never was* any such person. Her "ancestry" was FAKED by someone who had a very poor understanding of Irish history, and grabbed a few names here and there and Crazy-Glued them into a BOGUS tree.

And which one was this? And You and every one else may have been aware of this but I was not...

Here's some of the lowdown:

Grace O'Neill, [FICTITIOUS]

The whole rats' nest in back of her needs cleaning up too, or else isolating from the Big Tree. There's even a case of brother-sister incest(!).

Leanne: it's a free-floating bit of detritus. Maybe it has to do with whatever Geni is currently monkeying around with, maybe not. But since it doesn't connect to anything, it can safely be ignored.

Hi Bettina, it is correctly free-floating but I am working with other Minney's to try to find the connections. I don't think it has anything to do with the geni issue, I think the person just selected the wrong sex when adding and made a mistake when entering a date ie put 03 instead of 1903 or 2003).

Ok thanks. Yeah i think its on a do to list for some one. If it wasnt before it is now... Lol we all know erica likes all things scandolis maybe she will try her luck at digging that mess out.. Grace is in my tree but i dont know anything about her and dont want to cause more drama we have enough of that with what ever mike and crew are tinkering with

I have rather a tricky merge that needs doing and I don't want to muck it up, so hope that someone can either tell me how to do it or do at least the tricky bit (detaching the relationship with the wrong family) first.
