there is a "Ragnar "Snie" Sigvaldsson" who looks like a different person altogether - can someone extract him from this merge?

Thanks for noticing that, Melanie. It was the last merge (at the time I looked) and an un-merge took care of it.

Could a curator please assist. There are 3 Maud (mellinger) jones that all appear to be the same person. (i have created a discussion on their profiles) They all are abondoned and the genie in the background of geni could not find anyone to transfer to.

These are, as far as i know, not my family, but they do appear to be the same. I am unsure of what is the process now.

A question for a Curator.
Apologies if this is not the right place to ask.

I read about abondoned trees

and I have found some and clicked the button. Some have come back with an Error - you don't have access to this page. When I go back to the page, the abondoned tree no longer appears as an option.

My first question is when I click on Abondoned Tree - does the GENI program move management to someone else (where possible) or does it go to a human to do it?

My second question is does the new manager get told they are now managing the profile?

When you get "Error - you don't have access to this page" someone have already executed the Abandoned Tree command while you was viewing the profile, - i.e- if you had refreshed the page first you would not have seen that option anymore.

When executing the abandoned tree command another active user will be added as manager of the profiles. I am not quite sure about how many steps the check is, but the first on the list is the one who added the profile of that manager, - the next is the closest active user in the managers family group. This is an automated action, - i.e. no human validation on who would be the best to be added as manager.

The manager who inherits the profiles will get an email with a list of the profiles.

Private User the revision log says you did it yourself already, so your "little problem" seems to have solved itself

Thanks Bjorn. My guess is that it was in the middle of transferring managers when I viewed another record (and didn't realise they were attached to the same abandoned manager).

Another question for a Curator

Family lore has that the two Zoltan SCHNITZLER (named changed to SZASZ) are the same person but I don't think it is possible and I can't send to find enough information to prove/disprove.

Would love any help anyone is willing to offer.

I am in need of some help.. have someone on GENi that wants me to put their information of family in the site but I don't have a clue how to do someone else's ... a start point Einar Gjerde has an account but wants me to put his relations in and I do not speak nor write/type Norway and I don't want to mess up his line.. he has emailed his tree to me if someone could possible help plz I would be happy to email the tree to whom will help.

I would suggest you copy and paste one of his early ancestors into the search box of Geni - It may be that his tree is already largely on Geni.

While Curators may graciously agree to assist someone to 'get started' in getting their family branch properly connected, it is NOT a Curator's job to add profiles on Geni simply because someone doesn't want to learn how to do so themselves.

Curators might be able to see if there are 'nearby' active members which could be contacted to seek assistance.

Is there a way to handle adoptive parents and biological parents simultaneously ?

I am trying to merge some duplicate data another user added for my living aunts Brenda Rohrer Koeller and Dianna Gay Deeter (Rohrer), as well as their immediate families.

Can you help? They both have active profiles so perhaps they will have to approve the merges, or if you can think of another way to help I would appreciate it.
