Martin RhNegativ Starting a “Bonsai” tree as you call it is against the goals of Geni. “Geni users from around the world work together to build a single, comprehensive family tree. Users can build a private tree of their close relatives to CONNECT to the shared public tree.”
If everybody on Geni starts disconnecting profiles from families just because they believe their information is 100% correct it will be chaos. There are thousands of profiles on Geni without any source documentation this does not mean they should be disconnected from their families. I agree with Sharon Doubell it’s polite and the correct route to follow to involve the managers of a specific profile in the decision to disconnect a profile from a family especially if you have proof that the profile is connected to the incorrect family. Also remember that your own or somebody else’s research may be inconclusive evidence. Evidence may mean producing documentation to convince managers of an error.

Martin RhNegativ South African tree or not,that's not the issue, it's all part of the world tree and she's my 9th great grandmother. I have a problem with the fact that anybody can just delete a relationship because they believe they are correct without discussing it with the profile managers or showing any documentation for the decision.

Creating a "bonsai" tree is creating duplicates of profiles already on Geni, something we are all trying to avoid.

btw talking of geni tree is base on ppl with real documentation and records like us in CANADA mostly french canadian...we using maiden name as always to proove our family and no one can argue or mess with our ancestry!

and better we got records if not well we disconect them off geni or label parents UNKNOW!

About the Hvas profile I find it very Odd that you complain about this. " minutes before you desided to make changes on the profile I had actually just added it. I had to blood lines that needed to be merged together.
So while I am looking at the other proile of the same person. You deside to go in and make changes. So you see Ulf you where in the way of my work.
I find it very strange that you think I am in the need of help with my own profile that I just added to seconds before and was still working on.

"Jarigh Egberts" is the grandfather of "Jarig Egberts" he is married to Jetske Jarigs (Wytses) and Aeltie Wybes is the only wife of "Jarigh Egberts"

Martin RhNegativ, I am a curator, and on a World Tree we don't disconnect without telling the profile's managers. Start a Discussion on the profile, and I'll happily help you - as I have done before in these cases.

Martin RhNegativ The fact that I am not a curator makes no difference to the fact that I am correct when I say that on Geni we are working in collaboration with one another in building a world tree and should be merging duplicate profiles and not creating more duplicates.

Put your request on the profile's Discussion, so the profile's managers can talk back to it.
Your language (well done on your English, as always) and your nationality should not stop you showing other users the basic courtesy of letting them know why you think their profile should be deleted.
This is not "ATTENTION Curators, please assist me to delete other users' profiles without having to go to the trouble of letting them know."

I see that Rompt Eysma is married to his mother
I suppose Sybrech Rompts is his mother, not his wife, as the smart match for this profile suggests.
Also according to the dates given in the geni profiles Sybrech was 65 when Rompt was born; the smart match gives a more credible (earlier) birth for Rompt.
So which changes need to be made?

Could someone disconnect Jacob Moes from his "brother", they are not really brothers i just need to start a disconnected tree. Is there a better way to start a disconnected tree than what i have done this time?

Alex Moes -- if he and his "brother" are connected to a "parent," you can then disconnect them both from the parent, and hence from each other.

That's how I have always done it -- someone might well have better advice -- but I can't disconnect him from his brother cause there is no parent; only parent and spouse fields show up in the "relationship" tab, where they can be disconnected.

"unknown" parent showed to me in the relationship tab, i disconnected the relationship, and now Jacob Moes has been "spun off" into his own tree.

push UNFOLLOW on the brother you wish to get ride of, then go into the ACTION menu and follow the steps... if you are the ONLY manager of that profile you should be able to delete him.
