Jodi Elizabeth Kelly Jodi Olsen Kelley

Jack Smith was married to Chickie Smith, sibling of Mary Jane and Kennard Smith.

Jodi Kelley is daughter of Dorothy and Ken Olson, married to Tom Kelley, with children Charles, Mikal, Andrew, and Chris.

You can follow up with private message for more details. Thank you so much in advance!

Could a curator please help me to move two profiles that are on different branches. I am the manager of them both,

here are the two profile of the same person

Isabella Marcus Duyvoet

Isabella Marcus Duyvoet

Isabella Marcusdr Duyvoet is my 10th great grandmother.

I was working my way down the tree from another profile that's from the 700s and now I cannot connect then together as the same person.

sincerely Dorothy

Dorothy Smid,

The only problem with that part of the tree is on her husband.

What are the correct parents of her husband?

Kevin

Thanks again Angus for all your help!

Now it's almost finished, but can you help me remove these fictitious profiles, Stig Tokesen Galen (Hvide) and his father who someone claims to have been born in Duffield, VA, USA 1128 !!! Toke Ebbesen Hvide

@Kevin Lawrence Hanit

After I posted for help with her profiles, I tried to figure it out myself and since then it looks like you might have fixed the problem regarding her husband.
thank you !

Dear Curators:

This profile:

Irene Gross Rosenfeld Steiner

does not indicate that Irene Gross Rosenfeld Steiner was the adoptive mother of Geza Steiner's sons Charles B. Steiner and George Steiner.
I cannot figure out how to do this, i am afraid.

What happened was that after Irene's first husband died, she made a 2nd marriage to Geza Steiner, at which time her son Sydney J. Rosenfeld was adopted by Geza Steiner and took the second surname Steiner (while retaining Rosenfeld as a first (un-hyphenated) surname.

Meanwhile, Geza's first wife had also died previously, after which Geza made a 2nd marriage to Irene Gross Rosenfeld, at which time Geza's two sons Charles B. Steiner and George Steiner were adopted by Irene -- and they continued to be listed as her sons on the Federal Census after Geza's death.

I would appreciate greatly if this could be reflected in their respective Geni profiles.

If i knew how to do it, i would, but as they say, "It's beyond my pay grade."

Thanks!

Dorothy Smid,

It looks like I was able to find and fix it.

Kevin

Alas, Angus Wood-Salomon, there is still a problem.

Sydney J. Rosenfeld Steiner (Mikhail Strabo)

is now listed as both --

Brother of Charles B Steiner and George Steiner

AND

Half brother of Charles B Steiner and George Steiner

But Sydney is the adoptive brother or step-brother of them, not the half-brother (no common DNA0 and not the brother (no common DNA).

Jean Olivier, seigneur de Leuville

married a dau of De Chabanne not Isabeau but Suzanne
actualy there is no Isabeau in this line

marrier en fevrier ou janvier,,

Catherine Anna Manfredi Yronwode ... Something new I just learned:

Even when both of the existing parental relationships of Mikhail Strabo (Sydney Steiner) are set to adoptive parents, the text of the relationships are still described as "Son of ...", "Brother of ...", "Half Brother of ..."

... which, when thinking about it, reflects the legal relationships, but may be a bug in the Geni software, as Mikhail does not currently have any biological parents defined -- yet shows as having 17 blood relatives.

Furthermore, adding 'unknown' biological parents does not change the incorrect identification of ancestors. Definitely an issue to get recorded in the "Help" area.

This adoptive family issue has been reported here: http://help.geni.com/entries/98563408-Adoptive-parents-are-used-as-...

Hi
I need to remove the person who is currently listed as my ex partner, from my Geni tree, as this is causing me unnecessary embarrassment. I am not able to delete his details, and they remain on my tree. Could one of the curators please help me out with this?

Thanks
Rasika

Anne Brannen - thank you so much !

Thanks, @Dan Cornett, but your analysis is not quite correct. Sydney J. Rosenfeld Steiner DOES have known parents. They are Irene Gross Rosenfeld and N. N. Rosenfeld. (He was not illegitimate; his father died when he was young and we simply have not found the Hungarian and American birth, marriage, or death certificates of his father.) Sydney was bon in the USA.

Meanwhile, Geza Steiner, who was born in Hungary, came to America with his bride (first name also not known) and they had two children, Charles B. and George, who were born in America. One was almost the same age as Sydney Rosenfeld.

Geza's wife died.

At that point, Sydney was living with his mother Irene Gross Rosenfeld and grandmother Annie Gross, while Geza, a widower, was living with his two sons, Charles B. and George Steiner.

Then Irene and Geza married. Sydney added the last name Steiner but kept his original surname Rosenfeld as a middle name. Irene took the surname Steiner and adopted Geza's two boys, while Geza adopted Sydney.

Then Geza died (almost immediately, strange to say) and in the next Federal census, Irene was listed as the mother to Charles B. and George, not as heir step-mother, although she was not their biological parent.

Charles B. and George, the biological Steiner brothers, grew up and left home, and Sydney stayed with his biological mother Irene and his grandmother Annie, off and on, for the rest of their lives.

If the software can not handle this adoption situation, i shall ask for a conventional step-parent relationship to be shown, and i will explain the two-way adoptions in the comments field. That would be preferable to the mess we have now1

Thanks for any help!

Martin RhNegativ

I created a profile for Suzanne de Chabannes
Suzanne de Chabannes
added Jean Olivier, seigneur de Leuville as her husband and transfered the children

Please review

I did not disconnect Susanne de Chabannes as yet

Can you find her parents?

thank you Angus ..working on it

http://geneatique.net/genealogie/gabbermaniac/celine/de_BEAUSSART_I... i shearch for more

Thanks for re-clarifying, Catherine, about the Steiner - Rosenfeld particulars.

Geni *is* reporting parental relationships correctly; the sibling descriptions can be confusing, though, when there is a 'shared' parent between biological & adoptive relationships.

That particular situation also does not change the error (which was uncovered during this process) in reporting (counting) 'ancestors' and 'blood family' when the adoptive parents have many ancestors and the biological parents have none. (It's not clear to me yet if the sequence of adding parents ... and the order they are thus listed in the Relationships tab ... has an affect on the erroneous reporting of 'ancestors'.)

Are Charlemagne still active? He has apparently created this and a lot of other profiles on Geni, just wonder how? Antigone Soko ben Simeon

The User Charlemagne was using a claimed historical profile as his own and is no longer active, That profile was merged into the proper Charlemagne a long time ago..it is disconcerting to see those profiles still showing as being added by him.

I have asked Shmuel-Aharon Kam (Kahn / שמואל-אהרן קם (קאן to look at it

@Kevin Lawrence Hanit

I see you've tried to correct things but now there is am issue with
Mechteld Nicolaesdr, vrouwe van Baardwijk

Mechteld Nicolaesdr, vrouwe van Baardwijk

This Mechteld is not my biological GGR parent.
Mechteld Nicolaesdr, vrouwe van Baardwijk was NOT the daughter of to Claes [illegitimate] van der Merwede but . Nicolaas III van der Merwede

Claes [illegitimate] van der Merwede is the right GGR parent NOT Nicolaas III van der Merwede;

If you look at her profile page it says she has TWO fathers.

My GGR Parent was "Metchtech Klaasdr van der Merwede" daughter of Claes [illegitimate] van der Merwede. Her mother was Margaretha Bogaerts Birth 1428 • of Meeuwen, Noord Bradant, Netherlands
Death BEF DEC 1474

Here is one link I found that matches what I found on Ancestry.ca

http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=remme...

If you can please re-add Mechteld Klaasdr van der MERWEDE
Birth 1450 • Baardwijk, , Noord-Brabant, Netherlands
Death 1507 •, S-Gravenhage, Zuid-Holland, Netherlands
as my biological GGR grandmother and unlink me from Mechteld Nicolaesdr, vrouwe van Baardwijk I can get my tree back on track.

Thank you

Sincerely Dorothy
