Private User, looks like simple duplicate of the father, waiting to be merged: one copy is part of the big tree with many details (managed by you and two others), the other copy (managed by Pieter Maria Groen).
I'm merging the two now.

Carole (Erickson) Pomeroy,Vol. Curator - Apologies for not getting back to you earlier and thanks for your investigation and help. You correctly discovered what had happened. At that stage I'd resurrected an old profile I'd deleted over a year ago, not knowing where the other one was, but with help from Itai Meshulam and various others (whilst I was blissfully asleep!), the original profile was restored, the second one merged, all tree conflicts sorted, etc. - so all is as it should be again now! I do appreciate all of you helpful curators.
:-)

If I do a merge, sometimes, I got a second profile with missing data.
The profile is than green!

But if you do a search, still the correct one is available

An example

What do I wrong?

Regards, Robert

@Robert Rafaël

Resolve data conflicts in the first one and then see

re: 'green' profile shown after a merge.

That is most often simply a result of a bit of lag in the 'backend database' catching up with what is displayed on the screen.

Simply refreshing the window will typically fix it, displaying the updated information for the focus profile.

Private User - adding to what other curators have told you - when you see a green profile like that in tree view - click on the profile to open it, and you will find unresolved data conflicts. Resolve those. Then refresh

Thanks all,

I mentioned this only because, it's heppends often to me.

There were no conflicts! I got only two links, one was correct, the other was missing the first name.. I filled this one also now to solve this.

Private User

No it is not yet solved

http://www.geni.com/family-tree/index/6000000038302251847#600000003... still shows green

Is it possible to delete the entire geni tree or not? And Did mothers in the past marry their sons or stepsons or something of that sort of thing. considering I think I made a mistake on Mary Hunt Bonney

I think this Mary Bonney(Hunt) : Mary Hunt

should be merged with this Mary: Mary Bonney

and I think the thomas: Thomas Bonney, the 1st/2nd

should be merged with this thomas(his supposed father): ‘Goodman’ Thomas Bonney

and considering Mary Bonney(Hunt)'s parents(the one that has them) are Dorcas Hunt(Oxenbridge), is the same as the second mary whose married to thomas goodman bonney III, but i tried to add new relatives to remove them but it didn't work, and based on wc.rootsweb.com the only mary hunt who mother is Dorcas Hunt(Oxenbridge) might and should be only married and related to Thomas Goodman III, please check my tree to make sure i didn't make a mistake on there considering i used records.ancestry.com and they are not the good things.

Casey Lee Anderson, sent you a PM

I merged two George Hatton profiles yesterday and now I'm not sure if it's correct. Please undo the merge for me.
George Joseph Hatton

Private User, unmerge in progress

Private User, unmerge in progress

Thank you Itai Meshulam

Please don't delete others' family trees 'cause you made a mistake. You must be sure you're doing the correct thing by checking your whole data as whatever you do, it'll also affect others.
Best regards,
Sylvia

Does anyone know if there is a button I can't find - I am finding that there are many profiles that I entered in that starting with 2011 & pre 2011 that for some reason I am no longer following - and I never "un-followed" them why should I since I entered them as I find them I am re-following them but it is a long slow process of finding them and converting them back to "follow"

Judith "Judi" Elaine (McKee) Burns,
That was a really good question :-)

I don't think that Geni has a 'button' that will help us to find these unfollowed profiles once added by us. Sometimes I also find profiles that I added years ago that I'm no longer following.

Originally, geni did not even have Follow. When it did, it did not automatically add the Profiles you had added before then to those you followed. So all us old-timers are going to keep finding Profiles we added but are not Following (with the possible exception of a few folks who had them all switched back when).

Thanks @Private User

I am sure When I started every profile I entered said I was following after I entered it could be wrong. I am not sure when the un-follow happened on my profiles but I am thinking it was sometime after the "Big Crash"

re: following (or unfollowing) profiles:

One can use the HistorySearch tool (http://historylink.herokuapp.com/history) to mark (or un-mark!) the ancestor profiles found by that tool. Note also that you can change the focus.

For example, one might "un-follow" 20 generations of ancestors (clear them all out of your "following" list), then go back and "follow" just the first 8 generations of ancestors.

You can also change the 'focus' profile, to mark another branch of a few generations that you'd like to follow.

That doesn't help specifically with profiles you manage which are scattered all over, but at least it lets you mark "groupings" you are interested in without having to do them one-by-one.

Private User Done.

I got the message below about a deleted profile where the deleter seems to be Zebeth Ackermann from which profile on Geni I can not send a message.

On the undeleted profile the deleter is shown as NO NAME under Revisions

If I try to send a message from a profile where this person is a manager (NO NAME) then, nether NO NAME or Zebeth Ackermaan appears on the TO LIST.

How do I contact Zebeth Ackermann/NO NAME??

Dear Daniel Jacobus,

Zebeth Ackermann has deleted the profile for Gideon Petrus Opperman. If necessary, you can use the link below to add him back:

http://www.geni.com/c/5cdfadeb61ae20f76c7755f865a8713377b4263e?u=ht...

I did a few merges that in hindsight needed a more careful consideration: can someone please undo these?
Gertrude von Arnstein and Hugo VI. Pfalzgraf Graf von Tübingen (the last TWO merges need to be undone)

Daan Botes I've noticed that Elizabeth Ackermann has been busy changing profile names to No Name e.g Ignatius Wilhelm Ackermann (1913 - d.) is now Ignatius Wilhelm Ackermann
and this one Elizabeth Pretorius Opperman
