Sharon, do you mean Carel August Pistorius is the SV? I understand the article to say that there were 5 SV's, all brothers.

Thanks Private for catching that. I can't figure out what I thought I'd seen; except there seemed to me to be two SV/PROGS and the father Friedrich Heinrich Pistorius, SV/PROG should take precedence.
Perhaps it was just cross-eyedness from it being late at night: but I can't see the problem now, as Friedrich is the SV - as he should be.

Friedrich Heinrich Pistorius - the SV/PROG emigrated from Germany to SA in 1838 with his uncle, Maximilian Ernst Ludwig Pistorius, & his 5 sons & 3 daughters on board the Cape Packet. They landed in the Cape before moving up to Natal.

Sy vrou was Maria Elisabeth VAN NIEKERK geb 17/01/1826 in Pietermaritburg. (Ook van haar ouers) Hulle dogter Maria Wilhelmina Pistoruis (geb 24/07/1861) in Rustenburg is die ma van my man se ouma. Asook Maria se man Peter Heinrich Wilhem LANGE (geb 06/01/1848) vanaf Baven, Duitsland. Ek soek fotos van almal.
