I have requested a unmerge for Joan Stewart, Countess of Morton from Joan Gordon.

Joan Gordon was merged into Joan Stewart, of Scotland, Countess of Morton Jul 25 at 5:53 AM

I do not think Joan Stewart of Scotland was married to a Unknown Profile, she was deceased before her husband James Douglas, 1st Earl of Morton. I think this connection is just the result of a wrong merge.

Carol, I am not finding anything on James Gordon, so my suggestion is to change him to Douglas and merge the 2. John Gordon wasn't his son anyway and he now has no children.

This is where the 2 John Gordons are now after separating and moving:

John Gordon, 2nd of Auchleuchries

Sir John Gordon, 2nd of Lochinvar

Joan Gordon and Joan Stewart are half sisters with the same mother. Joan, wife of William Gordon, of Stitchill

@Joan Stewart,of Scotland,Countess of Morton b 1428 @Joan Gordon of Stitchill b 1428 are half sisters that is strange that they are both b in the year 1428 Judy Rice

Well , he could have had a wife and a mistress pregnant at the same time.

I've disconnected the wife of William Gordon of Stitchill, 1st of Lochinvar from parents. If they are found they can be reconnected.

I also disconnected Unknown Profile as husband of the countess of Morton.

Should we go ahead merging him into her actual husband or is there somewhere in the Gordon's he fits?

Maybe should wait until Mike un-merges Joan Stewart, hopefully James Gordon will stay with Joan Gordon and then James Gordon & his wife Joan Gordon can be merged into William Gordon & his wife Joan ?

I don't think that will work since James Gordon has been disconnected from Joan Stewart. Probably just merge him with James Douglas then. Mike has been away from Geni for the weekend, so no un-merging will be done til he gets back.

Done.
