Hi All

I am opening this item in order to test the waters with regards to a possible 3rd marriage. Yesterday I received studies from GISA which indicate that Maria was also married to:

Pieter Sonnekus * 26.1.1678 Nieuwmunster, Wes-Vlaandere 30.1.1678

and more specifically, that her son Hendrik (b7) was Hendrik Sonnekus, with Pieter Sonnekus. All the information for the next FOUR generations points towards a duplicate in Hendrik Swanepoel b7 and Hendik Sonnekus and their children.

I would have given up on the matter were it not documented that only her 6 children with Mr. Swanepoel was witnessed - both in her general profile and also on e-family.

I don't think that is correct.

I've found Pieter Swanepoels's baptism entry om 16 Dec 1731 @ Cape Town. Witnesses were Hendrik van Hoven and Anna Catharina Obitz.

Jan I will have a look for you, but will be in Pretoria for two days working on estates for clients.
I will then only be able to look into this matter by Saturday. Maybe Lea or Daan or June could have a look in the mean time.

Hi - after perusing the MOOC document I think it is clear that Pieter Sonnekus is a duplicate of Pieter Swanepoel - I have deleted all references and have followed up with GISA.
